subject: The Top 5 Mobile Saving Tips: Saving On Your Mobile Phone Budget [print this page]

Mobile phones are important everyday gadgets to us. We spend money on buying the best phones, choosing the best plans and even buying the extra accessories. We always want the best for us but sometimes we are unaware that we tend to over pay for something that we don't really need. Do you pay more for your mobile phone bills than you need to?

We find ourselves stuck in a phone plan that we don't really need. That's already a waste of money. So here are some tips for you to reduce your mobile phone bills.

1. Consider SIM only instead of the full plan. There are phone plans and there are SIM only plans. SIM only plans are tad cheaper as compared to phone plans since you can choose that when you already have a phone. Keep your phone, you don't need a new one when the one you have is still functioning perfectly.

2. Keep things simple and basic. Do you really need a mobile phone that can sing and dance? Do you need those fancy mp3 playing phones? Or those with high end cameras? If not, then why not go for something simple and basic. New models have a higher price and you can see that the more the features it has then it's another round up the price range. If you just want to text, call, and is not really into music or photos then stick to a simple phone. It won't leave as much as a large hole in your pocket as compared to the iPhones or what-not.

3. Stop paying for more than what you need. If you find yourself spending less than 25 on your mobile phone bills, then it's time that you ditch or switch to another contract. If you find yourself just using up a fraction of your credit limit, just think this- you don't need to pay 40 more on something that you don't really use. It's just a waste of money. Choose a contract that costs lesser but will be sufficient for you.

4. Get in the same network. If majority of your friends, relatives and office-mates use the same network provider then it helps that you choose the same. You will get cheaper calls and texts when you are in the same network.

5. Consider group plans. If there are more than two people in your house who has a mobile phone but using different plans or services, then consider doing a phone plan. Mobile phone plans can be in groups and there are even family plans available. These plans come in different features. There are plans in which all of you can avail for a new phone, then you can choose the services you wanted to include.

Don't pay too much for your mobile phone plans. This is the time that you learn to save and control your mobile phone bills. Save more each month, choose your plans wisely and spend your money on something that you can really use.
