subject: Energy Audits Launch For Businesses Owners [print this page]

National heating company, Blazes, will next month launch an all-new service aimed at helping businesses become more energy efficient.

With energy bills on the rise and concerns about global warming, more business owners than ever are looking for ways to make their properties more eco-friendly.

It is important for businesses and organisations to be energy efficient, but every building is different.

It is difficult to assess whether you need insulation, more efficient gas central heating, LED lighting, heat pumps, new windows, a solar water heater or solar PV panels.

Blazes is here to help with a comprehensive diagnostic energy audit, designed to help you prioritise the changes for the optimisation of a business energy efficiency.

Energy auditors will inspect and evaluate a propertys energy features and make recommendations for improvements that will save energy and money.

Professional auditors use a variety of techniques and equipment to determine the energy efficiency of your home.

Blazes can then perform the renovations for you, if required.

If you are interested in getting specific recommendations for improving the efficiency of your business or organisation, consider an Energy Audit from Blazes.

Insulate to save money on your gas central heating systems

Save money on gas central heating systems through proper insulation such as draught proofing and insulation for lofts and walls.

Roof and loft insulation

In an uninsulated property, a quarter of the heat is lost through the roof.

By insulating your loft or flat roof you can easily reduce your gas central heating system bills. This is both effective for at least 40 years and will pay for itself in the long term.

Wall insulation

A third of all the heat in uninsulated properties is lost through the walls. The colder it is outside, the faster heat will escape, affecting your gas central heating bills.Cavity or solid wall insulation will pay for itself.

Floor insulation

Insulating under the floorboards on your ground floor will save you serious money on your gas central heating systems.

Draught proofing

Draught-proofing is one of the cheapest and most efficient ways to save money on your gas central heating system.

Solar energy subsides to drop dramatically again after July

Government subsidies from the Feed-In-Tariff, a scheme to encourage people to install solar panels, are to be reduced again for installations after July 31.

In March 2012 the Department of Environment and Climate Change informed the Solar energy industry that the Feed in Tariff would be reduced from 21p per kWh to 16p and that the duration of the scheme will reduce from 25 years to 20.

Returns on Investments in Solar PV energy will significantly drop again after this month but Solar PV manufacturers have already lowered their prices to ensure that returns on investment remain attractive.

Amazingly, until the end of July, this means that Returns on Investments in Solar PV are roughly the same as when the scheme was first introduced in 2010.
