CNA certification in Florida can provide you a chance to earn your living as a health care professional in the state health sector. To be able to get the CNA certification in Florida you are only required to complete an approved nurse aide program and pass the certification test.

The Florida Department of Health has contracted nationally recognized testing agency Prometric to manage the nurse aide certification test throughout the state. In order to apply for licensure test you must fill and submit an Application to test agency along with the necessary documents. It is required that all fields of the application form must be filled carefully and correctly and should match with the information provided in state photo ID.

Once your eligibility is determined, the agency sends an admission letter containing examination day and time at your postal address. You must arrive at the test center along with admission letter and proper state photo ID. Also, you must bring 2 pencils, eraser and a wrist watch at the test site.

The CNA certification test in Florida is divided into two parts, known as written nursing test and clinical hands-on experience test. The state Department of Health requires students to pass both sections successfully to obtain CNA certification.

Written Test: The written portion of CNA licensure test is based on computerized system. It does not mean that you must have an experience to use the system, but you are only required to tick the correct answer on computer screen by using the mouse. At the test center, you are given one and half hour to perform around 60 multiple choice questions. The paper for written test includes all questions based on basic nursing ethics or fundamentals.

You can also take an oral test instead of a written test, but for it you must provide your choice in the Application. In oral test, you hear the questions when you read it on computer screen. You can also replay the question as many times as you wish but the rest of the process is same as in written test.

Clinical Hands-on Skill Test: In clinical test, you are asked to perform 5 nursing skills, assigned by the computer, and you are scored on these given skills but hand-washing and indirect care is always watched and compulsory. For your test you are given 30 to 40 minutes to complete it. In order to pass the clinical test you must perform all five skills perfectly.

The candidates who qualify both written and clinical sections of the exam gain the nurse aide certification offered by the state Department of Health. The certification is must to perform as a certified nurse aide officially in Florida medical industry.
