Newquay is located on Cornwall's coast and is one of the nation's most popular seaside towns. A wide variety of exhilarating activities make a summer vacation or Newquay weekend getaway, one to remember forever.

Parks and Beaches

An exciting Newquay weekend would be incomplete without a visit to one of the many gorgeous beaches along the Atlantic coast. Known as UK's surf capital, Newquay has some of the best beaches to surf or just lay out and relax. Most beaches are located within a reasonable distance of lodging, Newquay surf lodge, and a variety of restaurants, bistre, and cafes.

Just minutes from the Newquay Town Centre, Fistral Beach is a perfect place to start. Since surfing is a highly popular activity in Newquay, apparel and equipment are available on site. A popular beach with a Newquay surf lodge nearby is the Lusty Glaze Beach. This beautiful sandy cove is surrounded by cliffs but still provides direct access to the water. Scenic views hovers over this horseshoe-shaped haven and beach-side facilities and activities are available.

Surfers of all abilities should visit Crantock Beach for its golden sand and tidal river. Located along the northern end of the beach, the Gannel River makes this beach a unique spot because it offers a sheltered area for bathing. This location is only a 15 minute drive from the Newquay Town Centre and is an ideal spot for beginner or hardcore surfers, and families as well.

Caravan Parks

A wonderful Newquay getaway should include a visit to the caravan parks available. The caravans are spacious, beautifully decorated, and are conveniently located close to many different activities. A great bonus about staying at a caravan park is the broad options for having fun. Campsites, hiking trails, and park tours are just the beginning of an exciting Newquay getaway.

Membership Clubs

After one visit to Newquay, most will want to return sometime soon for yet another unforgettable experience. Take advantage of membership clubs that offer discounts or special privileges.

Families who enjoy all the amazing activities in Newquay should consider a membership at the zoo. Aside from receiving a free visit, membership costs are used to donate to save endangered species. In addition, a name plaque will be placed near the chosen animal for the entire year. An otherwise regular trip to the zoo can be personalised by becoming a member.

Another great membership option is available at the Newquay Rowing Club, which offers rowing memberships. Aside from rowing, there are also social memberships that give access to the bar and club. Novice rowers have the option to buy a temporary membership to see if they later wish to become a permanent member. An annual Newquay getaway will be even better with club benefits and discounts.
