2. To start this process, you will need to connect your iPod to the computer. You will need to use the white USB cable that came with your iPod.

3. The instance that a window pops that will ask you if you want to sync up with your iPod, click on No.

4. Just wait for a few seconds to make sure that your computer was able to identify your iPod that is connected to the USB port.

5. After that, double click the My Computer icon on the desktop or click the My Computer icon on the start menu.

6. In the My Computer window that will appear, you will be able to double check if you iPod was identified by your computer. There should be an iPod icon there in the list of drives.

7. In case that there is none, make sure that the USB cable is properly connected to the PC and iPod. In the event that no icon still exists, try to use another USB wire that is available, there is a large chance that the cable is defective.

8. After checking that the iPod icon is in the list of drives in your My Computer window, double click it. You must make sure that it is there since if it is not, you will not be able to copy iPod music to computer.

9. Then, you must click the Tools Options on the File Menu on the topmost part of the window. A context menu will appear, after seeing that menu look for Folder options and then click it. A dialog box should pop up. In that dialog box, there should be some tabs. Click the View tab. After clicking the tab, many check boxes and radio buttons should appear in the middle of the dialog box. Look for the radio button that says Show Hidden Files and Folders then click it. Lastly click on Apply and then OK.

10. After doing the previous step, a folder named ipod_control should appear on the window. Access that folder by double clicking it. Inside that folder, a few folders will be there. They are calendar, photos, ipod_control, notes, contacts, etc. Double click on the ipod_control folder.

11. If you were able to access the ipod_control folder successfully, you will find the folder that you are looking for, the music folder. Inside that folder, some folders that will have names like F00, F001 and so forth exist. You can now copy iPod music to computer by just copying the entire Music folder to your desktop.

12. After doing that, all the music will be in your desktop. If you check each folder that is inside the Music folder that you copied, all the music that your iPod has will be in there.

13. Lastly, you can just safely remove your iPod from your computer. Then it is up to you on how you will sort your music files.
