subject: Job Employment - What Should You Do A Minute Before The Interview? [print this page] I remember one early morning when some unknown number calling my phone. I was wondering who might be the caller is. As I answer the phone, I knew that it was from the Company I applied last month. I never expected that they will still call me. Of course, I had been so happy that they considered me for the Interview, but at the same time, it freaks me out! Because the Interview will be the next morning after he informed me. Its too sooner! I am really clueless! I havent prepared all the things I should bring and wear! I dont even have enough time to prepare!
Even I have less than a day before my interview; I know I should do my part. I need to outshine the competition though with a little interview preparation! I just thought of some ways that will probably a big help for the interview without having enough time for the preparation.
These things are what I do...
Make a basic Interview Research
Have an effort to find out as much as you can before the interview, call the person who scheduled your Interview and politely ask some questions:
Who will be the person to interview you, know their name and position in the Company? What is the interviewers expectation?
What is the dress code? Dress better than suggested. Mostly, its better to wear a professional suit. Its the safest type of clothes you can at least wear.
Know the direction to the office and have an idea how long it will take you from your place to the meeting place. Keep a phone number to call if you get stuck on your way. Its better for you to be earlier than being late.
Ask for the detailed job description for you to have the idea how the interview question will goes.
Have an Assignment to Research Online about the Company
Make a quick research on the Web, go to the employers Website and get some information of the Companys Background. Having an effort to know the History of the Company you are applying for will be an additional factor for you. It may also impress the interviewer to see how eager you are to be a part of their Company.
Assess yourself and your Achievement
Knowing yourself and your abilities well will be easier for you to answer all the questions to be thrown in you. Have some time to think about your achievement in the past that demonstrate all the hardworking, dedication and teamwork or leadership or some good things you have done before that you might thing will be a definitely merit for you. Try to think of ways on how to express it impressively but humbly.
Deicide What to Wear and Sleep Early
Pick-up your interview outfit the night before the interview. Make sure that you are presentable and comfortable with the outfit you chose. Go to bed early for you to be more revive the next morning you will awake. Its better to be interviewed without looking haggard and stressed, but yet so prepared and refresh
Hope these things are effective and will really be a big help to each of the applicants, especially those who havent have enough time to prepare for the interview. If this works or not, I will be glad if you will inform me
