The teachers felt that this was much more important than blogging, so I switched gears and began writing as many articles as possible. By the end of the year social media was just beginning to become popular, so I jumped in to Facebook and Twitter to see what that was all about. LinkedIn was still for the corporate world, so I did not join at this time.
This may sound familiar to you. You may have already reached the point of overwhelm because you are being pulled in many directions and do not know where to begin or where to spend your time. This is a very common and easy trap to fall into with having an online business. You want to put in effort that is going to work for you so you try a little bit of everything. There is a solution to this, and it will help you to build a profitable business. This can be hard work, but if you truly love what you are doing if will seem like fun sooner than you think.
The key is to find a program to learn from that makes sense for you. If you are anything like me, a step by step approach will always make the most sense. I need to know what to do first, and why I am doing it. Blindly following what someone else directs me to do does not help me to be motivated to take action.
Each step builds on the one before, and soon you will be able to see the progress you are making. Also, if you are still working at your job, you will need to budget both your time and your money while you are learning. If you learn about online marketing and building your business in this way, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish in just a short time.
