We all know opposites attract, and men and women in courtship do a special dance of male and female dating rituals in the beginning of a relationship and throughout the years if they stay together. However, while the wonder of the male and female bond can create beautiful intimate relationships where love can blossom and prosper, there are moments when men and women really do struggle with their unique gender ways of communicating. These gender differences over time can hamper a dating relationship and a love affair if misunderstood.

The differences between men and women have long been documented. While some have argued over the years, the differences are not that noticeable, most research agrees there are some very distinct differences between men and women and how they think. In fact, the differences are also visible in how they process thoughts and how they respond to emotional stimulation as well.

There are some definitive basic factual differences on a physical scale that can be noted between the sexes. First men and women have different sized brains. The male brain is the larger of the two proportionately being approximately 10% larger then womens. In addition, a mans brain tends to function and process information more on their left side. This area of the brain is the side that processes logic and rationale. Women on the other hand, process thoughts using both their right and left sides. Additionally, the data from the right and left side of the brain transfers more quickly with women. This all helps people to understand there truly are some basic differences between men and women in how they think and process thoughts and feelings. Because of these differences, men tend to look at communication as a means to understand and process problems. Their main goal is to process through thought, and women tend to process more from thought and feeling, as they utilize both hemispheres more readily.

One of the most wonderful parts of life is sharing love and getting married. Since it all starts with courtship and communication, the fundamentals of mutual understanding is very important. The beginning flames of love must be fed throughout a relationship for it to succeed. This is why dating is not something that should end after a couple gets married. The most successful pairs continue to date throughout their entire relationship. They understand the sacred dance part of love is critical to feeding a successful sense of enjoyment and communication.

If men and women take more time to understand each other and how their genders operate by nature, then they have a much better chance of finding successful ways to bridge the gaps and stay together for the long haul.
