subject: All The Way To Mysore [print this page] It was our first trip outside Mexico CityIt was our first trip outside Mexico City. We were on our way to Mysore with my brother and sister. He also celebrated with the first two families together. As it one of the most wonderful places in India we were curious about our trip to Mysore. We booked our flights and were eagerly waiting for our trip.
After descending from the flight we hired a cab to the hotel United 21, where we had our bookings online for this trip. Way before our trip we confirmed our reservation at hotel United-21. Our decision was made after we read about this place in a book and its because of its location, enshrined in the famous Mysore Palace, we decided to explore this place. Once we arrived, we went for a quick visit of the city. Our plan was to examine the great palaces of Mysore and from there every other tourist attractions. It was a beautiful palace which was converted to a museum lately. The museum is very beautifully decorated and it has many good collections that it's hard to move your eyes around. After this visit we also went to Jayalakshmi Vilas Palace & Jaganmohana Lalitha Mahal. Since I was a foreigner I was a bit apprehensive about how people will interact with us.
Having witnessing the artifacts inside the palace we preceded to Kukkarahalli karanji lake. After spending some time there we all went to the butterfly park. It was an area where actually we felt that nature has no bounds. There were many people in the park but everyone was so busy enjoying the park that there was hardly any noise. The last place we visited was Krishnarajasagar Dam and Brindavan Gardens. Brindavan Gardens is a huge land preserved by the authority. They have well maintained the park with a big fountain in the center and colored lights and music which adds to her beauty. We enjoyed our trip to the core but till the time we returned back to the hotel we were completely drained of energy. We skipped our dinner as we had some road side dosas. Its one of the best things I ever tasted, specially the Nai Roast plain dosa with lots of ghee. Even the next day all of us had Nai Roast for breakfast. We couldnt believe that we had consumed more than 15 dosas. We were really impressed with this snack that we had a word with the chef who told us how it is made. It is somewhat similar to our pancake but it tastes much better than this.
I forgot to mention about the reasons for my booking in this hotel. When we were in United States of America, we stayed in Baymont Inn and Suite, NC few years back. There we had an opportunity to meet Mr. Sudhir Moravekar, the chairman of the company Panoramic Universal Ltd. (PUL). When we expressed our wish to visit India once, he suggested us to visit Mysore. He also said their company is trying to acquire a property in this place and requested us to suggest some place if we visit the place. Since our plan materialized this year and we started looking for our booking we came across this hotel which coincidentally is owned by Sudhir Moravekar.
