The foremost disadvantage of home learning is ironical to the common belief that online learning saves time. It works for few people in that way, for the rest of the people it works the other way around. Going against the general belief, online training consumes more time. Students tend to become lazy and reluctant for completing the course as it is available 24x7 for a long time. Students often postponed their studies and get used to a late back attitude.
It has been observed that students who pursue home learning tend to become passive. Every student who goes to school, learn more than textual facts and figures. He/she also learns to interact with his/her peers and learn to socialize. However those who pursue home learning dont need to interact much with other students. Hence, they tend to become socially inactive and lag behind in overall personality development.
Another major disadvantage of home learning is that it is not untouched by cyber crime. There are so many crooks over the internet who try every evil practice to siphon off money from your pocket. There is a bunch of fake home study providers who cheat customers, siphon off their money and yet dont provide a legit course. Many despite provide a well prepared course dont fulfill their promise of providing a recognized degree or certificate.
Pursuing home schooling courses demands high level of sincerity and self discipline. A student must be self disciplined to pursue the course effectively. Young children generally lack this trait. They need to be told to study and to be guided every now and then. Hence home learning wont help them much. They need surveillance of a tutor all the time who can make them study.
Despite huge popularity of online education, it is still not acknowledged very well throughout the world. Many employers dont recognize the online learning courses very well. Even if they do, they dont weigh it equal to the traditional modes of learning.
