subject: Skin The Most Important Organ Of Humans [print this page] Usually the big question is how we protect our skin. The quality of skin varies from one individual to another. Many are suffering from two common types of skin problem i.e. oily and dry. The change in weather vastly affects this type of skin quality. And it is really a troublesome for many people.
Oily skin is a shiny, thick and dull coloured. Often a chronically oily skin has coarse pores and pimples and other embarrassing blemishes. It is prone to blackheads. In this type of skin, the oil producing, sebaceous glands are over reactive and produce more oil than is needed. The oil oozes out and gives the skin a greasy shine. The pores are enlarged and the skin has a coarse look. But having this type of skin is also a good thing. It ages at a slower rate than other skin types. There a solution for it. It needs special cleansing with plenty of hot water and soap to prevent the pores from being clogged. Avoiding harsh products that strip your skin of oil and encourage flakiness is a best thing because they cause a reaction known as reactive seborrhoea, where the oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils. Avoid skincare products that leave your skin feeling taut and dehydrated. We should keep our skin clean but too much washing face will only stimulate the skin to produce more oil. Use of hot water for washing face is a must. Half an hour before taking bath applies on your face half teaspoon each of lime and cucumber juice mixed together. Doing so might help one to get rid of such skin.
Another problem with skin is having a dry skin. It can be uncomfortable and maddening. Your skin might feel tight and painful, it might look dull or red or flaky. Worst of all is the itchiness. What causes dry skin or xerosis, as its known medically? Usually, something in the environment or something youre doing to your skin is stripping away these fatty oils, leaving your skin unprotected. Less often, the cause is internal, a health condition or genetic predisposition is making your skin dry out.
The best treatment for dry skin is frequent, daily lubrication with an emollient, because mostly it is due to external causes, external treatments like creams and lotions can be applied and effectively control the skin breakout.
