subject: International Education [print this page] There is no certain definition to the term International education. However, in a broader sense, international education refers to two different types of education system. Firstly, international education refers to the practice of education in which students come to an educational campus from across the country to get a formal education. There might be students from several countries, studying at a campus. Such an education is international education for those who are native of some other country than the one in which they are studying. Another sense of the word refers to an educational system that is of international standard and is recognized across the countries. For example iGCSE training is considered as an international educational training as it is recognized throughout the world.
Yet another sense of the word, which is not very widely accepted, is that international education refers to that system of education which trains the students to tackle international issues. Courses such as International business training and international diplomacy training lie under this category. We would consider the above two sense of the term international education in our further discussion.
Most of the times, students of age group 18-25 from developing countries migrate to developed countries in order to pursue international education. This helps them in getting the desired job in their country as well as in the country from where they pursue the course. Every year, students strive very hard to get into the reputed colleges for international education as they are very few in numbers. This is the reason why the most premier institutes providing international education are stuffed with sharp students.
It is rightly said that all that glitters is not gold. Although the concept of international education seems very fascinating, yet it has some limitations too. These limitations or challenges are listed below-
1.Affordability: International education is not affordable to many. There are several sharp brains in underdeveloped countries, that certainly deserve to get enrolled in premiere international universities yet they are not able to pursue international education as it is not affordable to them.
2.Rampant corruption in the administration: Many international universities are victims of rampant corruption. The administrators practice unlawful and illegal tricks to favor some aspirants for their financial benefits.
3.Less awareness: many people are actually not aware of the procedure to get enrolled for an international course. Many students living at rural areas dont even know which exam to appear for if they have to pursue an international course.
With the advent of IT technology in the field of education international education has become quite popular. Online training has taken the entire education system to an all new level. Now students can easily access international education, sitting at home, at an affordable price. In past few years, due to online training, the number of students undertaking international educational courses has spurted like never before. This brings good news for the employers too. Now they can easily hire employees who have sheer work knowledge, of international level. Indeed international education through online training has totally changed the picture of international education which ultimately would change the education system altogether.
