subject: How To Prepare For New Iseet Pattern [print this page] Prepare yourself for the e-worldPrepare yourself for the e-world. 2013 is setting forth a new platform for JEE aspirants. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) is reforming the archetypal pattern of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) to Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test (ISEET). ISEET will be a common entrance examination conducted to get admitted to all IITs, NITs and all other engineering colleges.
The successor to the JEE and AIEEE for long the gateways to Indias top engineering colleges including the IITs will be called ISEET, the Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test. The Human Resource Development Ministry, Government of India seems is all set to go ahead with its plan to conduct a common engineering entrance examination from 2013, but the first nation-wide test may only cover technical institutions funded by the Centre.
The ISEET pattern is going to be effective for admissions into the IITs and NITs for Admission year 2013 and therefore is expected to be conducted in either March or April 2013. ISEET pattern will have two papers on the same day:
ISEET Main:
Duration of ISEET Main 3 hours
Paper-Test Pattern of ISEET Main Areas Tested at ISEET:
Reading Comprehension & Critical Thinking and Logical Reasoning
Weightage to ISEET Main: 30% minimum
ISEET Advance:
Duration of ISEET Advance3 hours.
Paper-Test Pattern of ISEET Main Areas Tested at ISEET:
Problem Solving Ability in Basic Science Subjects
Weightage for ISEET Advance: 30% minimum
The two tests ISEET Main and ISEET Advance together will indicate a candidates scholastic level and aptitude for science and engineering.
Indian Science engineering entrance test (ISEET) examination pattern for the academic year 2013 is as follows:
Main examination:
ISEET Main examination will constitute an objective test which will be of three hours of duration, which will be held at 10AM on the date of examination. The Main exam will have a test for comprehension, critical and logical reasoning.
Advance examination:
ISEET Advance examination will test problem-solving ability in basic science subjects, will be held at 5PM on the date of the examination and the duration of the test will be 3 hours. The two tests together will indicate a candidates scholastic level and aptitude for science and engineering.
The combined weightage for Advance and Main exam will not be more than 60% and while school performance in 12th board should be minimum 40% and can even go upto 100%.
These three scores should available to a student for seeking admission in a science or engineering course in the country. The specific weightage to be given to each of these three components will be decided by the academic institution(s)/ State Government (s).
