subject: Madgascar 3: Europes Most Wanted Fall Short Of Its Previous Movies! [print this page] Many of you will have a favorite genre: action, romance, comedy, fantasy, drama, etc. but how many of you love animation? Many of you are of the misconception that animation is for toddlers and kids! Animation movies were made with children as target audience. However, the scenario changed and it became a genre for all groups. People still perceive the genre for kids and go for animation movies only with their kids! Movie channels have started screening more animation movie as this scenario has started changing.
The recent animation movie that I saw was Madagascar 3: Europes most wanted. After watching the first (totally awesome) Madagascar movies, I had high expectations on this one. Though it did not meet my expectations, the movie was a decent watch. The highlight of the movie was the 3D! Out of all the 3D movies that I have seen so far (which is not all that much); this movie had the best 3D! At places I felt like I was going right along with the characters.
The downside of the movie was the love between the self-proclaimed King Julien and the bear. The bear was animated sloppily (I am not sure if it was deliberately done that way)! There were a few scenes that make you grimace a bit! The story line was not as strong as the previous movies. This movie had a few loopholes. Otherwise, it was an enjoyed movie. The group: Alex, Marty, Gloria, Melman, the monkey and the penguins again made a hilarious screen presence. The movie starts with the group plotting to get back to their home: the zoo in New York. They land up in Europe in their pursuit to reach New York. They make an excellent: to travel across countries without drawing any attention! They lie to a travelling circus saying that they were a part of a circus too!
The villain who wants Alexs head as part of her collection is the captain of Animal Control! The character is given a grand introduction which is apt for the characterization. However the character reminds you of the evil mother coming in tangled. The only difference between the two is that the captain has a shorter hair! She adds spice to the movie and there are a few seat-edge moments of her chase to find
Overall, the movie made a good watch and the 3D animation especially makes you go wow. There are movies that stay in your mind and those that you forget the moment you get out of the theatre! There are movies that you will want to add to your movie collection and those that you dont give a second thought! Sadly this movie falls in the latter category. The directors have tried too much to show the some difference in this movie from the previous ones. It might make a great childrens watch, with so many animals and colorful backdrop. Your kids will say that it is the best animation movie that they have ever seen. However, it is not the best of watch for the older people!
There have been a lot of sequels for many animation movies coming out nowadays. Many sequels are as good as the first movie or are better than the first movie. However, Madgascar 3 falls short of being a great movie. It doesnt look like the movie is going to have any more sequels from the way it ended, but who knows? Alexs love interest (the tigress) has been introduced in this movie and maybe there will be other movies feature Alex and group in the circus circuit!
