Perhaps the only difference is that Americans have the complete independence over their own economy whereas the countries up there, especially Spain, technically, have none. And that independence is not only a national idea. Compared to the Spaniards, the Americans still have a lot of options to choose from. In Spain, the Spaniards are not only suffering from their staggeringly daunting 24.4&% unemployment rate but with business ownership as well, for starting up any trade has undoubtedly failed to escape the effects of the ailing economy.
