Officially referred to as the United Mexican States, Mexico is a federal constitutional republic in North America. It is located at the north of the United States of America. The country is best known for its tranquil coastal islands, numerous parks and reserves, rich history and the famous Sierra Madre Mountains.

Mexico mainly has two seasons: a rainy season from May to mid-October, and a dry season from mid-October to April. Dont cancel your plans on account of the rains as they come in quick spells and cool the air for the evening. Rainy season is a good time to visit if you want to see the countrys lush landscape and tropical flowers. You will also get cheap tickets to Mexico. June through October is the Hurricane season. If you cant take high temperatures, think twice before traveling in June, July or August as these are very hot and humid. Mexicos high season runs from late December till Easter. This is the time when you will see the maximum crowds. Low season begins after Easter and lasts till mid-December. This is the time when you can get huge discounts on resorts and hotels. November is usually the best month to visit this country because of the lush greenery, cool temperatures and crystal-clear skies. Crowds are lesser and deals are good.

Flights to Mexico have a host of international airports to choose from. Lufthansa is one of the cheap flights you can take. May is the cheapest month to get your airline ticket. Other cheap flights to Mexico include United Airlines, Continental Airlines and KLM.

Mexican culture is heavily influenced by the countrys complicated history. It is a blend of Spanish culture with indigenous cultures. It also incorporates exogenous cultural elements from the United States.

Although many faiths are followed in the country, Roman Catholicism is predominant with more than 80% of the population. Other Christian denominations include Evangelicals, Pentecostals, other Protestant or Reformed, Jehovahs Witnesses and a few others. The non-Christian religions include Judaism, Islam and Buddhism.

The literature of this country has been derived from the literatures of the indigenous settlements of Mesoamerica. One of the well known prehistoric poets of the area is Nezahualcoyotl. Modern Mexican literature was under the influence of the concepts of the Spanish rule over Mesoamerica. Juan Ruiz de Alarcn and Juana Ins de la Cruz are two of the outstanding colonial writers and poets.

Mexican cuisine is world famous for its variety of spices, intense and varied flavors and colorful decoration. Most of todays Mexican food has been heavily influenced by pre-Columbian traditions, like the Aztecs and Maya, in combination with culinary techniques of Spanish colonists. Some of the delights of this cuisine are menudo, tamales, barbacoa, carnitas and pozole.
