subject: Four Things To Do In The Whitsundays. [print this page]

Planning a vacation in the Whitsundays with your family can be pretty confusing. Because of all the things you can see and do there you can come back year after year and still discover something new for your family to see and do. Seeing them by choosing a yacht charter in Whitsundays with your family is one of the best ways to experience these beautiful islands. You can choose the bareboating option, which requires a certain level of sailing experience, and have complete control over your trip. Here are four places you can visit, as well as the activities available there, on your trip:

1. The Living Reef

You can find The Living Reef at the entrance of the Daydream Island Resort and Spa. What it is is a mini-ecosystem similar to what can be found in the Great Barrier Reef. Small children who are too young or small to go snorkeling or diving can really benefit from this as it can be an introduction to marine life. The resort is the perfect place for you to spend the night with your family or simply visit for the day and move on to the next destination on your itinerary.

2.The Hamilton Island Golf Club.

A visit to the Hamilton Island Golf Club is a great way for the adults in your family to spend the day, especially if you're looking for a break from water sports. Play golf on this world class course and enjoy the seascapes and spectacular views that surround it. Have fun outdoors in the sun while playing a round of golf on a course designed by Peter Thomson, golf champion. You can get to the Hamilton Island Golf Course by taking a quick ferry ride from Hamilton Island to Dent Island.

3.Wild Life.

Wild Life is where you can find animals that can only be found in Australia and interact with them. This is a wonderful experience especially for kids. Children love animals and they are sure to enjoy learning and interacting with them. You can see koalas, wombats, dingoes, kangaroos and other animals native to Australia there in Wild Life, located on Hamilton Island. The resident animal keepers conduct daily tours for your family to join. And since it's on Hamilton Island, this is something your kids can do while you enjoy the golf course.

4.Airlie Beach Lagoon.

For a more 'traditional' day of fun on the beach, visit the Airlie Beach lagoon. Because the shallows have been cleared of stingers and other similar animals, as well as the children's pool found at one end of the beach, this area is safe for your kids.

You and your family will have lots of fun no matter what you choose to do, especially if you choose to hire a Whitsunday yacht charter. You can relax, have a great time, and really bond with your family.
