Sony Ericsson (SE) was a late entrant to touchphone market and when they did make an entry they came up with Xperia X1 which ran on windows mobile and Satio which on Symbian. So while reats of the world were wondering what Sony Ericsson is up to, they were busy with the next big thing - Android. And their results bore fruit. Android was the erfect platform for them. Android has garnered rave reviews, improved dramatically, is powerful and have a huge list of apps. All this combined well with Sony Ericsson's own development efforts. SE has used its own interface over the Android OS. This enables interface screens such as Timescape and Mediascape to show you all the communications and multimedia on one screen raher than open apps for them. The Infinite virtual button gathers all the related information for a contact or media type. So in effect your phone acts like a computer. And all this is done very seamlessly.
X10 is a big phone. Few millimeters longer and weighs same as iPhone 3G S. X10's screen is 4 inch corner to corner. It's bigger than even HTC desire. Bigger screen makes for easier use of touchscreen phones. The virtual keyboard is a dream to use. The screen is capacitive which means that touch operations are smooth.
X10 has got a whopping 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and a digital zoom. It has smart face recognition software which recognizes face while using the camera. Not only this, it recognizes faces in any photos store on phone. One nifty feature is that if you name a person in a photo, the phone then recognizes that person in any photo. If you touch the person's face, you can access his/her contact details and other information. Pretty smart! Though, it doesn't recognize every time but works well enough most of the times.
If you are a social media creature then using Facebook is a breeze thanks to a big screen. HSPA and WiFi makes internet fast and easy.
Though, X10 is not walkman branded, it has an excellent music player and a 3.5 mm audio jack which can be plugged in to any stereo headphones. It is equipped with aGPS and integrated Google Maps.
X10 is powered by Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor which is one of the faster processors around. The phone has 1GB of memory built in and provides a 8GB microSD card too.
Yes, it is loaded but some features are missing. It has no FM radio or video calling. Not the perfect phone but as close as you can get!
