subject: Get Involved In Clean Energy Projects [print this page]

Focusing on creating renewable and clean energy sources is of paramount importance to our future and it is imperative that we continue to devote time and resources to ensuring such energy sources are as efficient and viable as possible. Fossil fuel energy sources are doing irrevocable damage to the environment and the climate and they are slowly contributing to global warming. If global warming continues at the pace at which it has been, then it will cause irrevocable changes to the world as we know it.

As the polar ice caps continue to melt, more and more of the water trapped in the ice will be freed up and this contributes to rising sea levels that threaten to submerge vast swathes of land which are currently well above sea level. Life as we know it would be irrevocably changed. In order to stop this we must cease our reliance on fossil fuels and focus our efforts on finding new clean, renewable energy sources, as well as refining and perfecting the methods we already have for collecting renewable energy.

Eco-friendly sources such as wind farms provide a cheap and efficient means of gathering energy and can enable communities to become more self-sufficient. There are many projects which are trying influence people and the communities they live in to support and work towards renewable energy sources in their area and the work they are doing is commendable, but it needs more support and greater momentum. If every community in the country worked towards clean energy resources in their area it would have a massive effect on the nations carbon footprint. Not only this, but it would also go some way to helping the UK save money.

In having a renewable energy source that the country could utilise and be a part of, communities would not have to be so reliant on energy companies and as such, peoples energy bills could be drastically reduced. Saving the environment while saving money at the same time sounds like a dream come true, but such projects must be ceaselessly promoted and given a helping hand in any way possible. Without proper momentum and proof they can easily be side-lined and discounted by sceptical people. As such we must do everything we can to support community clean energy projects, as it is only by doing this that they can be beneficial both to us personally and the environment.

There are many different forms of clean energy resource projects and they can and should be supported - so get out there and get involved.
