subject: How To Achieve Your Target Weight [print this page]

The British summer is upon us, or came and went a fortnight ago depending on your pessimism, and it is time for the inaugural battle to slim down and tone up in time for days spent on the beach soaking up the rays.

Every year brings about a new fad in the dieting world, something that causes a stir in the media, whether it be the infamous Atkins diet, or the more recent trend being utilised by the celebs of today, the master cleanse. Opinion is always split between what works and what really doesnt in regard to these trends. So to make things a little simpler, here are three tips of small changes to your lifestyle that could make a huge difference:

1.Our first tip is something that may not seem to make a big difference, however, simply swapping your semi-skimmed or full fat milk for skimmed milk on a healthy bowl of cereal every morning can make all the difference. Kick starting your metabolism with a filling healthy cereal like muesli or Weetabix really sets your day off right, and helps you to resist eating too much more during the day.

2.Next up, remember if you do not have the food to eat you cannot eat it. Our next suggestion is that when you come to the end of your weekly shop, look through your trolley and find three items that you believe are not conducive to a healthy diet. Then all you need to do is take a bit of time to replace these items with fruit that will add to your 5-a-day or another product that can provide you with minerals and vitamins that will help keep your body healthy.

3.Our final tip will not only help you keep a healthy diet, but will also help in your struggle against the economic crisis that we find ourselves amongst at the moment. What we advise is you get yourself a blender and make yourself a new soup every week that you can enjoy for your lunch at work every day. This is an incredibly cheap way of providing yourself with lunch, but most importantly is the perfect opportunity to get two or three of our 5-a-day, while ensuring that you are full up until dinner. Lunch time is also a time where you will be tempted by fast foods which are incredibly unhealthy, so this tip really can make a huge difference.
