Termed as Windy City for a good reason, this city will surely make you regret your decision to visit it during winters, with its icy cold outdoors and violent snowfalls. Weather is unpredictable in spring and unbearable in summer. Thus, the best time to visit would be during autumn (September to November). The weather around this time is moderate and the tourist spots less crowded.

Flights to Chicago are served by the OHare International Airport on the Northwest side and the Midway International Airport on the Southwest side. Cheap International Flights are easily available to either of these. For bargain-hunters, February is the best month to obtain flight tickets for cheap. United Airlines and Aer Lingus are two of the airlines operating cheap flights to Chicago.

This city has a wealthy religious heritage. Although Christianity is predominantly practiced in the city, it is also home to other faiths like Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism and Hinduism. Many religious leaders, like Mother Teresa and Dalai Lama, have graced this city with their presence. It also has many theological institutions, like Moody Bible Institute.

The citys cultural heritage is centered Downtown. It has various forms of performing arts and music. This culture has its roots in Western civilization but now incorporates the traditions of its diverse population. The city gave birth to modern improvisational comedy and is home to renowned comedy troupes: The Second City and I.O. Goodman Theater is one of the popular theaters in this city. When it comes to music, the city is best known for its Gospel and Chicago Blues. Chicago Symphony Orchestra is among the best in the world.

This amazing city preserves a vibrant fine arts community. From textile arts and paintings to sculptures and illustrations, there is nothing the art-lover in you wont admire. The River North neighborhood and Wicker Park comprise the maximum number of contemporary art galleries. National Museum of Modern Art is one of the attractions of the city.

It also has a diverse and energetic nightlife. There are more than 4000 nightclubs, and most of them host a variety of interesting events. So for all those owls out there, this is the perfect way to spend a weekend.

There is a long list of cultural and folk festivals taking place in this city. Taste of Polonia is one such festival. It is a four-day celebration of Polish customs and cultural heritage. Von Steuben Day, held in mid September, celebrates Baron Friedrich von Steuben. On this day, people march, play music and dance.
