NyQuil, an over-the-counter treatment manufactured by Vicks, is proven to be effective in alleviating patients who are suffering from common cold and flu and it is available in a capsule or liquid form. The mentioned treatment has been known to decrease the cold and flu's symptoms such as headache, fever, body aches, chills, nasal congestion, and even infections. However, NyQuil is not effective in mitigating viruses which are the cause of these diseases. Individuals with common cold and flu can continue to do their daily routine, activities, and duties if they have taken the said treatment.

The primary ingredients of NyQuil include dextromethorphan, acetomenophen, pseudoephedrine, and doxylamine succinate. Dextromethorpan has been used in reducing cough and pain reliever. If these side effects happen, seeking immediate medical reaction is strongly suggested.

There will be an alleviation of Nyquil's mild reaction of the mentioned treatment. Patients' liver is capable of getting rid of the treatment's active ingredients. It is also suggested to seek medical attention to hasten the recovery from NyQuil's side-effects. However, individuals who abused or overused NyQuil should seek immediate medical therapy to determine and prevent possible internal damages caused by the treatment. Individuals who are advised to stop taking NyQuil must take dietary supplements to strengthen their immune system and resistance. Moreover, it is also suggested that patients must take fluids to flush out toxic substances of the medication.
