subject: A Wild, Roaring, White Water Rafting Adventure Through The Up [print this page]

Discover the rugged beauty of the ancient and rich in nature and natural virgin river, and enjoy the outdoor adventure and exciting, and White Salt River, high water. Located at a distance of 135 miles of Phoenix, near the town of Globe, which extends from mile 52 near the Salt River Supreme Court, after receiving the escape in the mountains of white near a source an early date, home to some of the first class in the state of Arizona the best third year fourth river slopes. Even if you are a beginner, white water does not require the presence of previous experience or training is relatively inexpensive and best of all, it's an adrenaline rush fascinating and exciting and a great way to experience nature and the outdoors with friends or family. So if you consider yourself adventurous outdoors, and we would like to experience something new and exciting to do, and it's cheap and close to Phoenix, then I recommend you go white water below the Salt River, the planet, Arizona.

I really enjoy the adventure of white water, and was previously at the bottom of the Snake River in Teton National Park, Wyoming, and the Merced River in Yosemite National Park, California. I had heard of whitewater trips through the upper Salt River in Arizona, however, I've never done before, because the operating season salt Supreme can not be very predictable, and of very short duration. For now only the right equipment and a permanent flow of water in the optimization, peak, ideally you're looking at about mid-March in advance. However, this depends on the extent of snow and received even in the mountains in winter. This season, for salt mining Supreme extends told in early February to mid-May. So when I saw that there is a local group called Athletes of Mount Desert, led and organized by Ron Russell, who was planning a rafting trip on the River, Sault High, and called quickly my friends and I signed at the reduced rate of the Rio Group through the canyon rafting, based on valid science, Arizona, and business and professional outfitter who leads the Salt River High.

It was the morning of the beautiful spring during the first week in April that my friends and I met Ron Russell, also known as "the man the boat" and the rest of mountain athletes of the team in the desert , and the journey began the day we have, and go to the United Nations 60 East, also known as "arrived in the Old West Highway" and the world, from 7:30. After a short break for food and toilets at McDonald's, we left on 77 North State Hwy 60 Nations and enjoy the beautiful mountain road for 30 minutes until we arrived finally at the top of the hill overlooking River and the Salt Valley below, and they were all surprised quite amazed at how breathtaking and all was wonderful. Wow!

We traveled down a steep hill, and after crossing the bridge, turn left quickly on the short dirt road, where at 8:30 and we finally arrived at the meeting in the valley of Rio and the area parking. We went out and greeted warmly by the staff of Rio Valley who came to us quickly the equipment, we will need in the river today in the Assembly of the adventure, including diving suits and jackets complete and a touch of nylon, helmets, paddles and PFDs (personal flotation device). He suggested the beginning of Rio Canyon, do not just bring us bottled water, but when rafting in the early spring time when water temperatures are very cold and the air a bit cooler in the summer months, wear the clothes that are made either of synthetic or quick drying fabrics, shoes and shoes that are old or river sandals with socks that are made of neoprene or non-woven material to keep your feet and body from getting too cold

Once fit fully, and with paddles in our hands, we started walking on the edge of the river where we have all the evidence River, "coarse", a guide to the veteran of the river with 9 years of experience behind him, and greeted us and gave an excellent overview of the river rafting, including learning to use the paddle and what to do in an emergency, such as the fall of raft, what to do if you get a great reverse. After this detailed examination, we are finally ready for what was sure to be an adventure as well as the river is very scenic 9-mile rafting through the upper Salt River! After a group together for a few frames faster, we grew impatient in each of the helicopters that we have a man (6) and one by one on the river were pulled 10 hours.

At Salt River Valley, from 4000 feet high, and was windy and cold in the morning of that day, I would estimate somewhere in 50 degree heat we started our journey, and I been happy combination Oukdmt full wet, wind breaker and a heat value added. As we were drifting slowly from our launch site river, I looked up and was just totally amazed by the beautiful scenery of this very primitive wilderness, which stretches 52 miles across the planet way to Lake Roosevelt. Located on the basis of the original American Indian ancestors, very restrictive in terms of the Salt River Canyon before booking Fort Apache Indian, and can be accessed by raft or kayak with a permit.

It took only a few minutes on the river before we got to our first rapid, "bump and grind" fast, and is classified as "second class" highway. And wow, what a pleasure it was too! But it was just a warm. There was a lot more to come, we go to a range of excellent Rapids "third class", and although we missed the peak flow a few weeks ago, the CSA of the river, or flow, and were still very well today, "rough," advised our guide to the river, so we were in a real adventure! I learned to classify Rapids is very subjective. Basically, it was decided by water levels and flows, and barriers or obstacles in the river bottom, like dust, stones or anything that would cause the water, always flowing towards the bottom of the hill, turn, spiral, or cause an extension such as the falling water. The slopes are rated from 1, which is floating on a picturesque, up to 10, and very serious. However, if you are a beginning to intermediate Rafter River and, like me, and Class II and Class III rafting trips are the ideal river of salt and some of the best offers superior Rapids in the west of all States United

After warming up in the "bump and grind", fast in the second category, and with the rest of our team of athletes near Mount Desert behind us, we look and we were delighted to support the speed at which the next, first to the third degree of fasting for the day, the "Maytag" Quick! Wow, now that was fun! But it was only the beginning of this adventure! From there, it was still third degree "s, the entire series! With the team we have in our back, mostly out of sight now, and we continue to move at the speed of the next and the next, and "Grumman" and "rock" and "limit" for the Rapids, rocking, spraying, spinning, crashing against the waves and recycling through the sale of salt high current, and I almost threw the boat twice! Wow, that's brutal., Exciting and thrilling ride!

After running successfully, "limit" the road to the third class, we deviated from our group at the river to wait for the rest of our team to gain access. The transition to a heck of a long wild river, and I noticed that I was not alone in either ejected! There were some few solo kayakers also try to run the river that day and turned around and one of them leapt out of his kayak! Fortunately, after swimming for a road while continuing to hang on the kayak, he made at the end of the day and said he was fine. We waited along the riverside until everyone has done successfully through the last rapid, and once we had our whole team together again, and we continue.

From there, we had a break from the slopes and had a chance to enjoy the beautiful valley landscape and wildlife that are along the upper Salt River. I found it very beautiful and majestic, surprisingly high if Salt River Valley is a wilderness backcountry, which consists of 32,000 hectares, which were able to stay away altogether, here are not affected in the state of Arizona. I found this great day and this adventure was, until now, to myself.

I was a little after noon when we arrived at the camping in the Canyon Rio de Janeiro River, where we pull our boat on the beach and have a picnic in the middle of the day and break. What was lunch too! Canyon Rio provided us with a really delicious lunch and wonderful, and that says everything, down to the details of what happened. Wow! We really enjoy everything, but by 1:30 pm, and after taking a group photo with our partners in the Guide to the extraordinary rapid river, "rough", it was time to return to our rafts and begin the second part of our trip and adventure down the upper Salt River.

After removal of helicopters available to us, and continuing on the camp, and after taking on the "Gallery" third-class highway, the scene was more beautiful and spectacular as we are fast approaching Cibecue beautiful valley, crossed the Cibeque stream. After running a quick Cibecue, a second category quickly, we turned the corner on the left, and continued to enjoy a flight to the bottom of this part is very quiet and calm of Salt River high up that we have reached what could be better, but a final set of slopes of the day.

Again, and advised by the river we have excellent evidence "coarse" What would we do, we approach the first time, "three" fast, a class III rapid, followed by "drawing Salt River", a second category quickly, and then in our early end of the day, and "ending the Great", providing the best position, it seems, and we crashed, spray, impact and grinding to down our way through the "Falls Mezcal" rocking and rolling, and the third in the first class IV rapid, the best to each of them all! Wow, what is the total adrenaline rush!

After removing the side to wait for the rest of our team to successfully through the "Mezcal Falls", and then ask for few more minutes the final of the river until we finally arrived at the end and 9 km rafting River Adventure by about 2:30, and the access point where Rio Valley awaits us to take us to the parking area where our cars and 15:30 we were back at the car park, ready to go home in Phoenix again.

In all, what outdoor adventure very enjoyable, exciting and picturesque High River salt! Really a beautiful day spent with friends and everyone from a group of athletes Mount Desert. Also, put the river brings together an excellent campaign by a team of experienced professionals and evidence of the valley of the Rio Rafting on the river. Even if you are looking for something new, exciting, fun and adventure to do, I highly recommend, you will be sure to check out the white water below the Salt River, the planet, Arizona.
