subject: Climate Control Solution For Home Green Insulation [print this page]

Insulation is a process for slowing down the transmission of different forms of energy, be it sound, electrical or heat. We come across various terms associated with Insulation and as we proceed we become more and more familiar with it. Now, as we are aware of Global warming, it becomes imperative to go Green as soon as possible, as it not only reduces health risks, but also provides cleaner and more hygienic environment.

One of the forms of insulation is Fibre glass Insulation. Although fibre glass insulation, is an alternative technique to spray foam insulation, itturns out to be cheaper if we compare the initial cost of both, but it does not last longer. Fibre glass technique is somewhat health hazardous and cancerous as its small glass particles loosened in the air can harm people around. Whereas, the latter technique becomes not only cost effective in the long term, but energy efficient too.

Initially green spray foam is in liquid state, but as it is applied to the floor, ceiling, walls, and doors, the liquid seeps into the pores and cracks to seal and with in an hours time it hardens and solidifies. Very soon, our home, Green home gets transformed into an insulated enclosure from where the inside air cannot escape and outer air cannot enter. Thus the cooling or heating process inside the house can be maintained easily not only in energy efficient manner but also in cost effective way. Similarly it helps in reduction of noise too in noise polluted areas.

Bugs and termites can create great nuisance if living spaces are not treated properly at the right time. Green insulation is pest and moisture controller. Insects cannot enter inside the thick and hardened surface and water too cannot enter, thus providing protection from insects sneaking into ones living space. Majority of companies apply Green foam insulation, where the foam is obtained from renewable natural resources.

Spray foam insulation is better than most of the insulation materials, but it has its own advantages and disadvantages. Its installation requires an optimal temperature, ratio and mixing. However in the absence of all these components, cured foam shrinks from rafters in shuttering thereby leaving cracks and voids. To avoid this, it is of utmost importance to choose the right installer, who does not do a hasty job thereby leaving cracks or voids.
