subject: The Many Advantages Of The Telescopic Crane [print this page]

Hiring a telescopic crane, you can complete lifts in city or all terrain situations, with maximum payloads of between 10 tonnes and 220 tonnes. The crane is mobile, so it can be driven into position quickly and with multiple axels it can be manoeuvred into some pretty tight spots too.

A manoeuvrable crane of this nature is ideal for a lot of city construction, where congesting city centres is a major obstacle both to planning permission and to project management. The telescopic crane may be sited in adjacent streets, even, where the access is particularly limited and telescoped over to complete the lift at the appointed time.

Town planning is likely to require that the lifting schedule for a city job is arranged with the minimum impact to traffic and business. The mobile telescopic crane is the perfect answer to these concerns.

The mobile crane can reach a height of as much as 110 metres. It has an effective maximum radius, in its largest form, of 62 metres making it, as noted, ideal for reaching over obstacle from nearby streets, to complete a lift in even the most closely-packed of urban territories.

Some telescopic crane model have a special boom truck with no tail swing area so theres no danger of creating problems in tight city lifting situations. City and Iron Fairy crane models are both extremely economical in this sense, making them perfect for restricted space work.

There are planning and cost implications to hiring a crane rather than operating it yourself. In the first place, a mobile crane is an extraordinarily expensive piece of equipment, and must be maintained according to a rigorous and regular schedule. There are also costs associated with training operators and ensuring they remain licensed to carry out lifts with all the types of telescopic crane at your disposal.

In normal circumstances, when you hire a crane you also hire the operator. And the lift as a whole is bought with all the permissions already in place. The operator arranges, with the hirer, to come in at a specific time to lift a specific quantity of materials or equipment.

Mobile telescopic crane hire is not purely for building work. In some cases, other vehicles need to be lifted as, for example, in the rather endearing case of the shop fitting company that had inadvertently built a digger into the shop theyd been renovating!

Smaller cranes may be hired to perform lifting work where health and safety requirements are borderline. For instance, if equipment needs to be lifted and its weight makes a manual lift potentially dangerous, then a small telescopic crane may be used instead or a miniature crawler crane, which can be used in interior spaces virtually noiselessly thanks to its dual fuel capability.
