subject: Finding Out The Appropriate Deal For Superior Quality Dvi Extender And Kvm Switches [print this page]

There are numerous benefits of KVM switch as they allows many computers to share many common peripherals like mouse, keyboard and monitor. These switches comes in many dimensions and it is up to the customer to decide which one suits his or her needs and requirements. We can broadly divide the KVM switches into two main categories as per their use, and they are for home use and for commercial use. The KVM switches for home use are available in the form of 2 port switches. These switches are used to share resources between two computers. This KVM switches also find use when the user works on laptop and desktop computer.

The commercial KVM switch on the other hand are advanced version of the KVM switches which are used at home. They are set up to be used at large scale and are more costlier than the home based KVM switches.

The DVI extender is a type of video connecting device which is used to transfer video data of digital type to a display device of digital type like LCD screen. If we look at the DVI extender of the past time we will find out that they were basically based on Cathode Ray Tube system or CRT. If we look at the working of CRT we will find that it relies on signals of analog type which are sent by the computer to the monitor by graphic card of internal type. The work of graphic card is to translate the data sent by computer into the form of analog signal, which is then shown on the screen of CRT monitor. Now these CRT monitors are replaced with monitor of LCD nature, and from here the DVI connector came into being and slowly replaced by more advanced DVI extender. The main advantage of these DVI extender is that they these extenders work on digital signals rather than analog signals.

The data can be sent in the form of analog and digital signals. It has been observed that when we transfer digital signals to the device which accepts only analog signals, we need a conversion device. This conversion is carried out by the AV Converter or the Audio-Visual Converter. Firstly you have to plug in the digital cable into the computer or television and then put or plug the other end of the cable into the port present in the converter. Make sure that the before the conversion process starts the AV Converter is compatible with the cable you are using.

After all this the next step is to plug the AV analog cable to the out port of video present on the converter. Keep in mind that appropriate color matching of the cable is done with extreme care.
