subject: Tips For Planning Your Party [print this page]

No matter what the occasion from your birthday, graduation or job promotion, there is nothing like throwing a party for your friends and love ones. This give you a chance to show your appreciation for them and also the ability to plan one fantastic party. Party planning isn't easy as there are a lot of different things to think and worry about but in the end it is well worth it. There is nothing like the feeling of satisfaction after the party is over and you see that everyone had a great time. I remember the first party I ever threw was for my wife. I had no idea what to do and wanted to make the party special as it was for her birthday. I tried to create a plan of things I wanted to have for the party and stuck to it. If you are thinking about planning a party, here are some things you should think about.

One of the first things you will need to figure out when planning a party is where you are going to have it. If it is a small gathering you can maybe have it in someones home but if there will be a lot of people you may want to rent out an event space. The location of your party is key as you want to make sure that there is enough room for your guests but also not to much empty space that it feel impersonal. The next thing you should try to figure out after the location is what you are going to do about the food and drinks. Again if this is a small party you can maybe prepare the food yourselves but if it is a big party it may take to much time to cook enough food for everyone so you may want to get it catered. When choosing the food make sure you chose food that everyone would like but also some of the favorites for the person the party is for.The next thing to think about is if you will have any entertainment for the party. This is completely up to you as your personal taste and budget can determine this. You can do something simple like playing some music in the background to hiring a band. A fourth thing that you should think about is some I call the miscellaneous. These can be things like hiring valet parking if you decide to have the party at your home and don't have much parking space to hiring wait staff to server food to your party guest. Again this can be anything you think that might make the party better.
