subject: Manufacture Process Of Pvc Pipes And Pvc Plumbing Pipes With Its Advantage. [print this page] " "
Perhaps the plastic is being used more than iron and wood in daily use. Plastics are of many kinds. PVC is also a plastic like material being used as hard plastic for manufacturing strong and durable articles like PVC pipes. They are mostly used for drawing water from the ground. As the ground water is getting deeper and as the prices of steel pipes are growing day per day the demand of PVC pipes is increasing rapidly as they are the only alternative of steel pipes. Secondly they are used in PVC Plumbing Pipes for laying pipeline inside the walls and roofs. Plumbers use it for carrying water from one place to another. They also use it for carrying electric wires from the source to the point of use. When building is in the process of construction you can see these pipelines being laid inside the walls and the roofs.
They are available in the market in of different qualities. It is also because the uses of PVC Pipes are many; and different quality pipes are required for different purposes. Generally the pieces used for plumbing are of lower quality because if used for plumbing, the pipe line has not to bear any pressure. They certainly bear temperature changes but not so much as an open line faces. PVC pipes are comparatively very light weight, hard, flexible, durable and smooth. They are useful for passing water, oil, chemicals, electric wire and such other wiring also.
But very few of us have time to think about the manufacturing process of this useful item. First of all a molten mixture of Poly Vinyl Chloride is prepared. This mixture is poured into mold at a high temperature. Then the outer parts of the mold are fitted. When the mixture/material is hardened and gets a normal temperature, the mold is opened to take the pipe out. Then the pipes are dipped into chlorine liquid to destroy the bacteria. The pipes are cut down into small pieces and sent to finishing department. Finishing department ensures its smoothness on both dimensions from outer and inner side. Before finishing they are also checked for quality assurance. For testing the quality cement test and pressure test are conducted. If any pipe fails in these tests, it is again sent to the pot for recycling but if the pipe passes the criteria of quality control it is forwarded to the packing and shipping department. It is the story of PVC pipes.
When a piece of pipe is filled as a plumbing pipe, it forms a tunnel inside cement and brick surrounding. So its quality does not count but when the tunnel is used for carrying water its quality is required because if it leaks from any point, it causes risks for the building. So every sensible owner would like to use considerable strong and good quality PVC pipes for plumbing purpose also. Sometimes PVC pipes are preferred to the steel pipes as they don't get rusted. They are also very cheaper at cost.
