subject: No Internet Service At Home Is Less Common Than Before [print this page]

In the new modern world with many internet user and many more connecting to the net everyday, it does seem strange that some people still have an internet free home. Whether this is by choice or circumstances, there are free places where anyone can use the internet if their home situation will not allow them to. For the overwhelming majority of internet users and surfers, home is the ideal location to use the internet. It is also common to see friends accessing the web from a friend's home for some internet time.

Without home access to the web, many people will gain access at their place of employment. This is also true with people who have home access as well and the reasons vary as much as the people who make this a daily ritual and more often than not, it isn't work related. The public library, as it turns out is one of the most used free places for people to connect to the internet. The cost is unbeatable and the library offers more than just books. It is a great place to rent movies and depending on the location you can take some evening classes.

In the educational realm, schools at every level and discipline offer access to the internet. In addition there are community centers that give people time to experience the web. Because of all the public computer stations that are available, especially school settings, students are being taught at a very young age and adapt very quickly. Experts believe that this early training for children is very important for their development as well as their safety. This is a great tool for them to tap into that can take them far in life.

It is estimated that 25% of the American population does not connect to the web at all in any form. This is a significant amount of the population, especially for a country that is considered to be developed and constantly discovering cutting edge technology in this area. Researches also believe that a major factor for the non web use is due to the sparsely populated and under or non developed rural areas that is home to a lot of the nation non users.

A closer look at the data that has been compiled and collected about these issues reveal a fairly clear picture about what some of the factors are that definitely influence peoples decisions and what they deem to be important in their daily lives. It seems that education is a major key factor. The more education a person has, the higher the probability that the internet will be part of their daily grind. The same holds true for money. The higher the annual income is, the more likely that the person is to see the value and benefits that the internet has to offer them on their road to success.
