Have you been trying to build an MLM business online, but it seem like it is just not happening (or happening WAY more slowly than you had hoped)? Have you done your "online marketing" research and are doing EVERYTHING right, but still are unable to build your downline faster?
What is going on, and why are you having so much trouble being able to build your downline faster? Many times, the one thing that is holding you back from being able to build your downline faster is TESTING.
It is something that so many new network marketers -- particularly those who are trying to marketing their MLM businesses online -- either don't know how to do, don't want to do or are doing wrong. The truth is, though, that testing is ESSENTIAL to the success of any online business, and the key to you being able to build your downline faster.
So first let me answer two really basic questions: why test and what should you be testing? Testing allows you to know -- with actual numbers -- what is working (aka making you MONEY) and what is not working. Kind of valuable information, isn't it? When you are feeling frustrated that you aren't able to build your downline faster, the answer to that frustration is figuring out WHY. What you should be testing is your squeeze page (aka your data capture page or lead capture page).
So what does that mean, to test your squeeze page? It means that you need to see which elements of your page are resonating with people, and which ones aren't. The only way to do that is to isolate different elements of your page and test to see if they're working (or how to change them to work better). Imagine how you could build your downline faster if you knew exactly why people aren't clicking on your link -- which parts of your page they don't like or to which they are not responding. You would be surprised how seemingly small changes can equal BIG differences in your bottom line.
So here is the order in which I would test elements of your squeeze page: (1) headline, (2) page layout, (3) giveaway title, (4) bullet points and (5) color and font. You need to test each of these elements separately so you know which one(s) need to be changed. This is the key to building your downline faster.
While ideally you would (and will) test all five of these elements of your page, the absolute most important element to test is your headline. Your headline will more or less "make or break" you in terms of whether your squeeze page will be effective (and thus will build your downline faster).
So how much testing should you do? As a rule of thumb, I test 15 to 20 versions of any page. That gives you enough data to be scientifically relevant and to let you know what to keep and what to change.
Now, testing this many pages may seem like a lot at first glance, but let me give you an example of how powerful making even small changes can be and how much it can affect how quickly you will build your downline, how much you are spending per lead and how much your paid traffic is costing you.
Say that testing produced an increase in your click through rate of only 2% (your click through rate increased from 18-20%). Doesn't sound like much at first glance, but what that number really means is that you have increased your conversion rate by 10%! If testing meant that your conversion rate increased from something like 15% to 20%, that could mean a conversion rate increase of 50-75%. These numbers are BIG and will mean you can build your downline MUCH faster
So come up with five to seven different headlines and five to eight other subtle changes you can test on your squeeze page. At a minimum, be sure to come up with multiple headlines to test (as the headline is the most important element of the page).
Here is the biggest key of all -- and really the biggest key to be able to build your downline faster. If this testing stuff seems a bit overwhelming, remember that it is all about DOING. Do not allow yourself to suffer from paralysis by analysis. Whether you test 8 headlines or 20 -- or whether you test things in the perfect order or not - ANY testing you do is only going to help you, your conversion rates and your ability to build your downline faster.
Taking some sort of action is always far superior to doing nothing at all. The more you test, the more it's going to help you. Just get started and get going!
