You have waited until the last minute to book a HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN away break but you are not sure where to go? Well the safest choice is to book for the mother of all last minute vacations, as it is all things to all people. There must be a reason Spain is such a hot spot because in excess of fifty million people holiday there each year, making it the second most visited country in the world. The diversity of tourist destinations is the biggest draw for last minute travellers. So if you happen to be the unlucky ones caught in a last minute deal make Spain your choice: you will not be disappointed.

What makes Spain of such paramount importance when it comes to last minute breaks? We know it is one of the most visited places but why do people come here year after year? Two of the cities which receive most of the action are Madrid and Barcelona, both of which have everything one could possibly ask for in a holiday location.

Let's take a look at who comes here. For the most part at least in the beginning, it was people from the UK in the era of package holidays. After a while the coastal resorts started catering for the Brits giving them the same food and drink just like back home. As a result they became comfortable in their choice of holiday locations so why try something new? Like some people say "if it works then don't fix it" and that is exactly what they have done. The new generation has become addicted to the diversity of this country including its lifestyle, culture, food and its pristine beaches along with the history of this once superpower. Then there is the beauty of the landscapes and the lush mountains with valleys leading down the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. All this and we haven't mentioned the architecture left behind by the different civilizations that have ruled this country. The question is not what reasoning would keep people away but what draws them here.

When you take a look at the nation's capital with its modernity and traditionalism you soon realize this is another form of diversity. This city is also rich in history with places that the locals are justly proud of such as the cathedrals, churches and other buildings from the medieval period. This modern outlook includes restaurants, bars, nightclubs, modern shopping malls and ease of access from its Metro Trains along with traditions taking you back generations.

From your HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN, most of the cities have a museum or two but Madrid is full of them covering just about any subject you can think of. Some of these museums include the Museo del Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum of Art, the Reina Sofia National Museum and Art Centre. Just to name one or two you should visit such as El Retiro Park. There are some important places in and around the city of Madrid such as the El Retiro Park and the Palacio Real including its army. To make sure you don't forget the places you would like to see write them down staring with the Catedral de la Almudena along with the Palacio Real and its royal army.
