You frantically scurry about your bedroom, flinging open wardrobe doors and drawers as you try to locate tops and dresses, jackets and trousers and other pieces of ladies wear. Everything comes tumbling off shelves and lands in an unhappy heap on your floor. Nothing will do. This particular occasion is different and that pair of crisp linen trousers and jacket that you once thought always looked so good teamed with a matching handbag, shoes and belt just no longer looks so cool. Then comes the real crunch: oh dear, you've indulged yourself a little too much recently; you've eaten one cake or pastry too much and it shows, and now the bigger problem looms: nothing fits.
By now of course you're going to be in near despair. You start the process all over again, pulling out dresses, skirts, frocks of all colours and styles but it's no good, because nothing looks good or fits.
Everything gets shuffled haphazardly back into wardrobe bars, shelves and cupboards and you realise with that next sinking feeling, you just have to get something new.
