subject: Is Your Home In Vogue? [print this page]

Your home is likely to be your greatest assetYour home is likely to be your greatest asset. The biggest difficulty most home owners find is that, having acquired their dream home, it needs maintaining. Maintenance may be required because your home is already in pristine condition; as daily wear and tear, including on bathroom ceramic tiles, occurs, you want to keep it looking good and a showpiece to be proud of. Or perhaps the home you have just acquired is a bit run down and in need of a helping hand to make it good again. On the other hand, you may have acquired a property that needs an overall makeover and complete renovation. These are fairly usual reasons why home maintenance and decoration is needed. There is of course one other reason: fashion.

Increasingly today, fashion is not simply to do with wearing the most up to date garments, shoes or jewellery. Home dcor has become big business. If an Englishmans home is his castle, then most of us like to keep our castles up to date with the very latest in dcor. This is by no means limited to a quick slap of paint, making curtains from old bedclothes or knocking a few nails into walls.

Today, it is increasingly about the whole look and ambience of your home and how everything from top to toes reflects and blends together and each bit complements another. This is where flooring has taken its place as a way to attract attention and add new dimensions to a home or living space. Ceramic tiles have really become fashionable nowadays in Britain and not just for bathrooms and kitchens.

Think about the style of your home. If you have a country style atmosphere then ceramic tiles may well look good in your entrance hall and extend into your living room. They can add great country charm to any area of your home and will certainly look cool. The superb effect tiles can give to your home is not limited to country style houses and certainly not to grand buildings. Rugs on tiles can add a new dimension that is hard to beat. If you have a dog or cat, tiles again offer great advantages. Animal fur will not embed into fibres, as with carpets, and tiles can be easily brushed or washed with a mop. Spillages from drinks especially when young children are around are again no problem with tiles so great for families.
