What's the first think that comes to mind when you hear SEO?

Many responses tend to float around two main things: web design and optimization of said website.

But what many don't realize is that SEO is an entity filled with various helpful tools. One of those,Email Marketing, is one of my personal favorties.

Why's that?

Imagine for a second, the giddiness you'll feel knowing you potentially have over five to six million opt-in clients waiting to open your email promotions? For one thing, that's a hefty number. And the other, well that's seemingly just the tip of your marketing iceberg.

Now there are some very important groundrules to heed when you begin your email marketing campaigns. There are two very critical rules of thumb to live by: unique content and well-thought out designs.Think of how many stale, oversaturated promotions you've had the unfortunate luck of reading when it comes to the typical email. One of the first things you'll realize is how terrible the slogans are. Too much of "Buy Now While Supplies Last!" or "It'll practically pay for itself over time!" and so on and so on. Instead of going through the motions, make each email an eye-catching, enjoyable experience for each reader. Start by crafting the title according to your product, but make it naturally resonate to the user.As for the design aspects of your email, always go above and beyond with each email design. Whether that means criss crossing color patterns with one and making bold, yet not blinding backgrounds for the next. Always stay one step ahead with your design schemes and avoid the dreadful pre-set design templates. If you go the pre-set route, it's predetermined to be thrown into the trash bin.One more thing: don't "make it rain" with your emails. Sending out an email every day will convince your clients that you are a dreadful spammer with nothing to offer. Be tagged as a spammer and you might as well stockpile future emails into your own account because no one will listen. You see, the beauty of email marketing is the ability to establish a unique (and enormous) bond with milllions of potential clients, who in turn may act as a courrier of sorts and send your message along to future email accounts. Just remember, with such a large fan base comes great resposibility with how you manage your email campaigns.(Editor's Note: I managed to nearly paraphrase Spiderman with that last sentence)Now that you've gotten a taste of what's in store, your marketing prospects should be just a bit brighter than before. As long as you get your foot in the door with SEO, there's many more helpful aids like this one waiting around the bend. How I Learned To Start Loving The (Lovable) Email Marketing StrategyBy: Kyle O'Brien
