subject: Keep Them Close to Your Heart [print this page]

They say you should keep those you love close to your heart. And, for most of us, this comes naturally. When you truly love someone, they seem to find their way into your heart. Unfortunately, though, when a loved one passes away, that place in your heart is typically all you have left. You cherish their memory, and you'll keep it with you until it's your time. But, for some people, this just isn't enough. For some people, that loved one was their soul mate, their best friend for years and years. Sometimes only to keep them figuratively near your heart isn't enough. Some people would rather hold a loved one physically near your heart.

By this, of course, these people don't intend to lug around a limp, lifeless body. However, cremation jewelry allows them to physically hold a part of their lost loved one in a tasteful way. But, before I get ahead of myself, let's make clear what cremation jewelry is.

Normally, when a body is cremated, their remains are placed in a cremation urn. Basically, cremation jewelry is like a miniature cremation urn. After a body is cremated, a small portion of their ashes are encapsulated in part of the necklace. Cremation jewelry looks like any other piece of jewelry. And it's designed so it can be worn in both casual and formal settings. Furthermore, the jewelry is designed to be worn by both men and women.

Of course, most men don't want to wear a heart-shaped piece of jewelry around their neck, even if it contains the ashes of their late wife. For men, they can purchase cremation jewelry in the shape of a cross, and other more masculine designs. Common designs for women include hearts, tear drops, and tiny capsules. Naturally, the choice of design is up to you.

Everyone has the right to celebrate the life of a loved one however they desire. For some, they may send them off in a burial casket. Others may want a tasteful cremation urn for their mantle. And, for those who wish to keep a physical part of their loved one close to their heart, they might purchase a tasteful piece of cremation jewelry.
