subject: Giving It Her Best Shot [print this page] The school Sally went to was a very active school when it came to planning events and school reunions. Sally was never very popular in school, but that didn't bother her because she always went to all of the events.
To get ready for her reunions she would always get a complete makeover. From her hair all the way to her wardrobe she made sure that she looked really good.
Sally focused more on her career over the years so when it came time to bring her family to the reunion, she didn't have one. Sally was always in luck though because she had great friends and they all were very supportive of anything she needed, so when it came time for a date to the reunion she always had one.
One of the last reunions that Sally attended, she was approached by the reunion committee asking for her help in planning a future event out. Sally was a bit hesitant, but agreed to help out. Her biggest thing was trying to figure out what to do, so that everyone would have a good time and show up.
Being active was one way Sally kept looking so good, so she decided that golfing would be a fun way for all of her classmates to enjoy each other's company. She was thinking of golfing and then a barbecue. After calling around to all of the golf courses in her area she finally found one that was going to give her a great deal on golfing and also let her have the barbecue at their course.
As Sally prepared the invitations, she made sure to mention to all of her old classmates that they needed to RSVP ahead of time so that the golf course could get an accurate headcount. Sally was hoping the turnout would be huge so that she would feel really great about herself. Sally always had suffered from a lack of self-esteem.
Sally sent all of the invitations out two months ahead of time. She put on the invitation that she needed an RSVP three weeks prior to the golfing event. The first month she only got a few RSVPs. She was beginning to feel as though she had failed and the golfing adventure was going to be a waste of everyone's time. All of a sudden over the course of three days she was slammed with RSVPs. Almost her entire class wanted to go to her golfing event. All of the school reunions don't compare to this day. Sally will never forget this day in her life. Her class honored her with a special award for taking the time to put together the best reunion ever.
