subject: Outdoor Security Cameras Are Not Limited To Hunting And Land Management Anymore! [print this page]

Digital trail cameras have been around for some time, though now people are using them in creative ways that perhaps they were not used for before!

Originally, trail cameras were designed to help large scale wildlife parks with land management or to scout hunting areas for potential animal populations. Digital trail cameras are still doing both these jobs very effectively, and the cameras themselves have evolved over the last decade to include blur reduction technology, wide screen images and video, night vision, time lapse modes and motion sensor activated shots! Some of these cameras are even available in mini versions that are smaller than your hand!

So now that these cameras have come so far through the ages, what could you use them for other than what they were intended for? Well, really anything you want! Here are a few clever ideas that Ive come across.

Backyard security

Using these cameras in your backyard to monitor during the day and night is ingenious. Because digital trail cameras can be set to take a picture only when motion is detected and use an infrared flash that is virtually undetectable, these cameras are invaluable as backyard monitoring devices. With extremely clear night recordings, capturing images of your desired areas when the sun is down is a non issue.

Wildlife Photography

Using these cameras artistically to capture natures shyer creatures is a perfect idea! Many creatures are extremely sensitive to human intrusion, whether you are in the area or have been. Capturing images of creatures that have a tendency towards the nocturnal with digital trail cameras makes this rather daunting task easy.

Using these trail cameras also allows for the photographer to capture the animals in their natural state. While the average photographer may be able to capture images of select animals that are not as wary of humans as other, using a trail camera allows you to capture the animals in their natural state. For those of us interested in capturing images of wildlife that is, getting that shot of say, bucks fighting, without investing in a large, expensive zoom lens is invaluable.

Dont forget that nature can be a lot closer than hiking in the closest forest or mountain range! Using these cameras in your own backyard can relay some amazing images! Imagine setting up a digital trail camera in a birdhouse and watching a family of birds grow from egg to maturity!

The possibilities are as endless as you imagination! With the technology now available to the average consumer, these cameras could be potentially invaluable for any number of reasons, to a great variet6y of people.
