Barcelona is one of the famous historical sights in Spain; it holds a long history with a varied cultural influence from the Moors to the Re-Conquest. One of the main city attractions is the ancient town, Barri Gtic. It is the old district that is called the Gothic Quarter where a trove of Gothic treasures is found. Many ancient monuments are available which showcase the past history of the Roman influence with its fortified village.

Barcelona is a great city for discovering the history of its past with the well preserved ancient Roman walls with semicircular double towers. The fortified walls run from the Cathedral along the aqueduct which waters the Collserola hills. Here, tourists would enjoy 14th and 15th century monuments with various architectures such as neo-Gothic faade, ogival ribbed vaults and artistic pulpit as well as intrinsic choir stalls.

Three ancient medieval palaces are found in the city Cathedarl with various types of structures like a Renaissance faade or some flamboyant Gothic architecture. There is also the ancient Palau Reial Major monument that sports a bell tower as high as 40 meters with the Ramon Berenguer III statue in the city square. There are numerous palaces, chapels and museums to occupy the tourists during the stay in Barcelona which they would find delightful in appreciating the rich culture of the city and region. There are also numerous festivals which are celebrated here with full vigor and pomp; music, dancing, singing and fireworks fill the streets and air with parades and color.
