subject: Working For That Perfect Figure [print this page]

I could really go for a jogI could really go for a jog. Now how often do we hear that over I could really go for a pizza? Not often, I'm sure. The thing is, if we'd like stay in tiptop shape, it's going to take some effort on our behalfs to achieve maximum results. But let's face it. It's easier to plop yourself in front of the TV instead of running on a treadmill, isn't it?

Hey, I'm not perfect myself. I'm included on the list of people who would rather hang out and eat junk food than exercise. Guilty as charged. But then again, I'm also on the people who are dedicated to being healthy so they exercise and eat right list as well. As long you're not on the do nothing but complain about your weight list, you should be okay.

And by okay, I mean that you are likely willing to take the advice doled out in today's blog. Or to be more specific, you will be open to the idea that the perfect figure is not simply given to you (well, maybe to some). You have to work for it. I say that even though there is a wonderful procedure known as CoolSculpting that helps patients to eliminate excess fat.

As I mentioned in my last article, CoolSculpting doesn't give people a pass to pig out. Diet and exercise will be continuously doled out as top recommendations for optimum health for all of our lives. So it's important to know that even though CoolSculpting can help you freeze away unwanted fat cells, you still have to work to keep the fat off.

Here's what CoolSculpting helps you to avoid: incisions, needles and anesthesia. And while you will never have to worry about permanent scarring and the other pitfalls of surgeries like liposuction, a CoolSculpting treatment can sometimes be a bit uncomfortable. Hey, no one said life was easy!

According to Dr. Craig Crippen of DermMedica, a Kelowna CoolSculpting clinic, CoolSculpting by Zeltiq can be uncomfortable during the first 5 to 15 minutes when the vacuum grabs the skin and fat. On a video on his website, he mentions that the fat cells are frozen for about an hour, but patients can resume their normal activities right after.

One of the most important points that Dr. Crippen makes in his video however, is that CoolSculpting is best suited for those who are physically fit. So clearly, the fact that the procedure exists is not an excuse to be lazy. Perhaps, I'm speaking a bit out of angst towards some friends of mine who seem to think otherwise.

Then again, perhaps I'm just telling the truth. It is always my intention to pass along a little advice in hopes that it helps. But one must be committed to helping him or herself if results are to be expected. Want some more advice? Be sure to consult a licensed physician. An experienced doctor will always be the best person to ask about the help you need.
