subject: Improvements To Beau Vallon Will Boost Tourism In The Seychelles [print this page]

Tourism is one of the most important industries in the Seychelles and so it is no major surprise that the Minister for Home Affairs & Transport and the Minister for Tourism & Culture have announced plans to improve Beau Vallon, the 'golden mile' of Mahe. The Beau Vallon beach is considered to be one of the most popular beaches in the Seychelles so they are hoping to improve public infrastructures here as well as things like lighting, security, pavements, life guards and beachfront replanting.

While Beau Vallon Beach is already extremely popular with tourists due to its prime location and plenty of activities, these improvements will further enhance its attraction to foreign guests. The beach here is one of the best in the world and this is what makes it so popular. Images of the perfect white sands and crystal clear waters have been used in many advertising and marketing campaigns all over the world so tourists are keen to experience it for themselves. So it would make sense for the tourism industry in the Seychelles to maximise the potential of this picture perfect location and make it even more appealing.

Hotels in the area are being urged to get involved with the project so that it becomes a safer environment for tourists both in and out of the water. Minister for Tourism Alain St. Ange has reassured business owners in the area that these moves will provide protection for their investments. Provided all work together in the project, then Beau Vallon's future would be protected. Because of concerns that some private sector business owners had regarding social problems in the area, both Ministers were quick to reiterate that it was a matter of urgency to set up lifeguard and police outposts in the area.

Seychelles beach holidays are hugely popular with those planning a getaway in style. British tourists have long favoured the islands because of the beauty and fantastic weather here. It is considered to be one of the best luxury destinations in the world and this has a lot to do with the spectacular beaches, crystal clear warm waters, and unique culture.

Mahe is the largest of the islands in the Seychelles where Victoria the Capital is, so it is no wonder that this is where most of the tourists will head for. It is also where ninety percent of the population of the Seychelles resides. So improving one of the main tourist areas on this island is a really good idea for tourism as a whole.

There are plenty of great things to do on Mahe such as a visit to the National Park, Morne Seychellois or sightseeing at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception for example. Most visitors will find plenty to do to keep them occupied with plenty of land based or water based activities.
