For bottoms, you can put on running pants made of polypropolene and other synthetic materials. If you're sensitive to coldness you may want to use two garmentsa wicking layer such as tights, and a wind-resistant layer such as jogging pants. For tops, it is advisable to use three layersa wicking base garment like silk, an insulating layer like fleece, and a wind resistant athletic jacket. There will be several formal occasions during winter, so make sure that you have at least three different looks for social gatherings. Again, the style of your coat will depend on your base garment. The color and texture of your gown should complement the structure of your coat. If you're sticking to simple and classy gowns you can partner them with traditional long wool-blend scarves with interesting details like stripes or floral patterns. In wearing the scarf just stick to the classic drape. Just put the garment around your neck, tuck it well into your coat, and cover the chest area.

In less formal occasions like bar hopping, Friday night outs, and other leisure activities with close family members and friends you can use your ordinary casual dresses and accessorize them with pretty gloves or mittens and hats. You can use the coat that you're using for work, or you can opt to wear your biker leather jackets. The best scarf that will add warmth to this type of casual ensemble is one made of cashmere. The color of the scarf should complement the color of your dress; otherwise stick to versatile colors like white, black, and gray.
