Mostly, people prefer traveling by overnight buses as the time to travel is 12-14 hours from Bangkok to Phuket.

There are various beautiful places situated on your way from Bangkok to Phuket. It is great fun to stop at every spot and take a snap for lifetime memory. Thus, a good way to reach Phuket is by hiring a cab which you can stop at every possible place. You have to drive along Highway number 4 passing through places like Nakhon Pathom, Prachuab Kiri Khan, Ratchburi, Chumporn, Phangnga, Ranong and Sarasin Bridge. Thus, you travel a distance of 862 kilometers in twelve hours will all the fun on the way. You can carry a map along for making travelling by cab easier.

Train would be another cheap way to travel but there is no train that goes directly from Bangkok to Phuket. Thus, you would have to take a train from Hua Lamphong station and get down at Surat Thani and from here take a bus. Getting tickets booked in advance is advisable.

You can also take the forth option of traveling by air that takes just an hours time. Various domestic flights operate daily from Bangkok to Phuket. Check out the one that suits you the best.
