subject: Susan Soars [print this page] Even in college Susan always wanted to be in a very fast pace environment. She had worked very hard throughout the years had become head of her department. When she came home it was often times that all she would do is sit in front of her computer can play free girl games. She was looking for anything she could do to unwind from her hectic days.
During her work week she learned that the company she was working for was going to implement a new policy and they were going to require audits every few months. Susan was not happy about this because that meant she was going to have additional work.
Susan decided that she needed to have a meeting with her boss to discuss this additional work. Her boss had no empathy for her, and told her that the management is lacking, that is why audits were going to be implemented.
It was observation time so Susan studied what each of her employees did throughout the day. If for employees weren't surfing the Internet, they were busy chatting with each other. And these were the employees that were supposed to be doing their work, yet Susan found herself doing quick reports for each of these employees because they didn't get it done all the time.
Susan's employees were about to get a rude awakening. Friday afternoon Susan called a meeting for all of her employees to attend. She advised of her employees of all of the new rules that were going to be followed. Her employees did not like what they were looking at, but she did not care. She advised them that they would get in trouble for everything they did wrong.
Monday morning was Judgment Day. She knew that her employees would either follow the rules or she was going to start firing everybody. She was happy to see that most of her employees were on track and doing their jobs. Only two of her employees decided to mess around and surf the web. Those employees were called in to her office where she wrote them up. She was hoping they would get the hint and understand that she was not joking.
All of the new rules in place and being followed has made Susan's work environment much better for her. Her boss is even happy about all of the new changes.
Every Friday when Susan comes home she is not only happy with everything at work, but she is not exhausted anymore. She can go to her computer and play her free girl games without wanting to fall asleep on her computer keyboard. Susan is very happy with her life.
