This time I had it after a gap of one month and since it was an outing with college friends it is bound to happen. As the get together was organized at hotel united-21 thane, one of the best hotels in Mumbai, we were bound to have a great moment together. We had five tables booked for us at Waves Lounge bar. We were having a great time in there when someone from our group explored an exciting thing. The surprise package in the hotel was the in house Orbit discotheque. They had the best equipment including speakers and DJ consoles. We were treated to some of the best trance music by the DJ. It was the first time when I had more than 10 pints of beer.
We were in the hotel by evening 6.00 pm and we were there till 11.30 pm. We just didnt know how the time flew. By the end it was a day which all of us enjoyed with memories which will be cherished down the years. As we were moving out we were presented our bill and the look at the amount itself made me feel dizzy. It was just 56,000 for twenty people and there were just three of us till the end. It meant that three of us were required to pay 56,000 and since no one was carrying a credit card it was really tough for us to pay the amount.
It was only after calling one of my friends the matter resolved. He used to work with Panoramic Universal Limited (PUL), the company who managed Hotel United 21 Thane. Upon his interference we were saved from a possible humiliation. Next day I got call from all the friends who left and asked about the total money to be contributed. I called up other two friends, who were with me last night, enquired with them about did they told anyone about yesterdays scene. They were negative and so the trust factor and friendship with other seventeen guys got restored. As I thought they avoided paying the bill and when they heard that we managed it very difficultly, they tried to share it. It was wrong on my part as everyone was drunk and no-one was in senses to realize that bill needs to be paid.
Next day, I went to the hotel with my credit card, as I thought paying by cash wouldnt leave a good impression. I went to the manager and to my shock he greeted me with a big smile. I came to know that the bill was settled by my friend and I need to pay him. I called him and thanked him for this. I asked his bank account number to transfer the amount. He gave me his number and said that only 45000 needed to be credited. It was really good of him as we got a discount of 9000 and I had to refund the excess amount to my friends.
