Many puppy owners bring their puppy to various of obedience class to train their puppy to listen to their commands.

Well, the good news is now you don't have to do that again as you can train them yourself at home! Not to worry, we will teach you some basics in educating your puppy to be obedience.

'Come' is the very first command to begin and the best way to teach it is to start it at home when your puppy is close to you.

Try to tell your puppy to sit and then you take one or two steps backward. Then start with the 'Come' command in a light and happy voice with the posture of tapping your lap as signal.

When your puppy respond well to it, praise him with some treats. Keep repeating again and again and at the same time add your steps further and further. You can practice this up to 15 minutes in a day.

After your puppy is well trained for this, you can bring him outside of the house and practice it in public. Add a little bit distractions and see if he still obeys your command. Remember to keep your puppy on leash so he will not run away when training is in progress.

One more basic command will be "stay". This command comes after the command "sit". Tell your puppy to "stay" while you stand in front of him with the leash over his head. If he gets up, pull the leash upwards until your puppy sits again. Prevent your puppy from lying down instead of remain stay at his position of sitting.

You can also try out few more commands such as stand, sit, stay, lie down and many more. Make sure after a command is fully trained only you proceed to the next command. Too much command at the same time will cause your puppy to get confused and lost interest in the training.

Rewarding your puppy when he is performing well is a must, but it must be consistent and not all time. This can maintain good behavior continuity. In contrast, correct your puppy on the spot if he misbehaved.

Obedience training will be more effective if it infiltrates your puppy favorite activities as the training will automatically become your puppy's favorite activity.

You will be surprise that your puppy can really understand what you are trying to ask them to do.
