subject: A Finger Pops Up In Arbys Sandwich [print this page]

A finger pops up during food intaking, its different from a roach emerging in a hamburger. When a customer ate that hamburger with a roach inside, eww, just like the feeling a pile of stones crushed in an impact crusher . While a figure, what does it feel like?

It should start from the incident occurred to fourteen-year-old Ryan Hart. He definitely got more than he bargained for when he got his roast beef sandwich at Arbys last Friday. The Michigan resident had almost finished his meal when he bit into something different. I was like, that got to be a finger, he told Michigan Live. I was about to puke It was just nasty. No kidding. Hart described what turned out to be an inch-long fingertip, complete with finger pad and first knuckle, as rubbery.

Unlike the infamous Wendys chili hoax, this grotesque incident appears to be the real deal. Jackson police and the countys health department confirmed that an employee had lost part of her finger on a meat slicer at that location.

Surprisingly, the location did not shut down following the episode, a fact that has raised the ire of Harts mother.

Somebody loses a finger, and you keep sending food out the window? she said, adding that he hasnt been able to sleep very good. Hes really worried lately and he doesnt want to catch anything.

Though the Arbys did stop food production for full sanitization, she has contacted a lawyer.

For its part, the chain issued a statement addressing the snafu.

Arbys wants to reassure customers that we are committed to providing quality food in a safe and healthy environment, John Gray, vice president for corporate communication for Arbys Restaurant Group wrote. We are deeply concerned and apologetic to the guest involved in this unfortunate incident.
