Working people spend more time sitting in front of the computers and these chairs plays a main role in reducing the stress and strain caused to neck and spinal cord. Tension building up on spine can be easily reduced by sitting in the right posture. We will discuss here the right sitting posture to avoid injury to the back.

Right posture

If you do spend more hours in desk then you need to follow the right posture. Back pain and neck pain can be completely avoided by sitting in the right posture.

(a)First, adjust the office chair and desktop in a comfortable position. It is not good to have too much distance between the desktop and chair.

(b) There are people who sit in the front of the chair and bend forward to look at the screen of the computer. Best way is to sit back in the office chair making use of the lumbar. Head and neck must be kept erect in this position.

(c)Do not sit on the computer chairs for a long time. Take a stroll during break as it relieves stress and strain caused to muscles.

(d)If you are comfortable, position the hands on armrest, it provides support and avoids aching while typing for a long time.

(e)While you sit on chair, feet must rest on the floor or else adjust it in such a way to touch the ground.

The right ergonomic office chair must have the following features

(a)Height adjustment

It must have a special lever to adjust the height based upon your need. If you sit on a chair without adjustment facilities then you might end up straining your neck, leg and back. Do not increase the height above the level of desk, adjust it in such a way your hands can touch the desk and you can read without difficulty.

(b)Seat must have adequate cushioning

Cushioning on the chair can provide unwanted strain to your back and leg. Before you purchase, it is good to sit on the chair and check the cushioning effect. Breathing fabrics used as cover prevents excess heat while sitting for long hours.

(c)Mobility

Chair must have wheels at its bottom which makes it easy to move it front or back based upon your need. Not to mention, it will avoid straining the body to perform a specific task.
