subject: Case Manager Faqs On Working With A Worldwide Air Ambulance Provider [print this page]

Air medical transport is one of our specialties at MedFlight911. Often, we are transporting a patient from one facility to another for convalescence or specialty medical care. Other times, we are transporting a patient back home after an illness or injury.

Often we work directly with the patient or patient's family to arrange the Air medical transport. We also work with case managers to arrange transport for their patients. I've found that when we're working with a case manager who hasn't used MedFlight911 Air Ambulance before, there are a handful of commonly asked questions. So I've put together a list of those questions and their answers for you here today. And remember, you can always contact MedFlight911

contact MedFlight911 directly.

What is MedFlight911's air medical transport service area?

This is the most common question we get asked. The answer is: the world. We can and often do transport patients from as far flung locations as India, Lebanon, and the Ukraine. We have used medical motor coaches to cover the U.S on the ground and medical escorts on commercial flights to accompany patients from the East coast to the West.

We have even helped hospital staff seal off hallways and stairwells with plastic sheeting to create a temperature-controlled tunnel so that a burn patient could be safely transferred to the waiting ambulance in frigid temperatures. In short, if your patient needs to get from point A to point B, regardless of where those points lie, we can and will make that happen.

What air ambulance services do you provide?

Another common question we receive is whether we can tailor our services to fit a patient's need. The answer is a resounding "yes." Some air ambulance providers are "one-size-fits-all" where every patient will travel the same way. At MedFlight911, we provide an array of services tailored to patient's specific medical needs. If an air ambulance is not appropriate, we have multiple other options including commercial air medical escort

and ground medical transportation.

If your patient has a unique or complicated medical situation, we can create a solution to fit their needs. (To see what we mean, read our story of an incredibly complex Gulfstream IV air ambulance

transport of a cancer patient along with seven of his family members, with their own medical issues, from Beirut to Houston.)

Who provides the air medical transport care?

At MedFlight911, our medical personnel are both highly experienced and extensively trained in their specialty. All our physicians are board-certified in emergency medicine and our critical care flight nurses, paramedics, and respiratory therapists are licensed and carry specialized certifications.

In addition to their impressive credentials, all of our healthcare providers live by the motto, "Our Service Begins with You." What that means is that from the first contact we have with a patient, their family, or a case manager, we strive to go above and beyond to make the process simple, easy, and worry-free while taking care of every detail and acting as a care partner and patient advocate. We treat every patient like family; it is not just about getting the patient from point A to B; it is about showing them compassion and respect.
