subject: Barone Ricasole Attending The New Edition Of Divino Tuscany [print this page]

After just two editions it is already considered as a cult event that nobody would like to miss.

We are speaking about Divino Tuscany, the format born of the mind of James Suckling and conceived for only the most important Tuscany wine producers.

Barone Ricasoli is one of the founders of the event, which in 2011 attracted hundreds of wine lovers from 18 different countries. Tastings, gala dinners, moments of reflections and much more make up the rich programme that develops in 4 days. The logistics centre of the event is the Grand Hotel Villa Cora, which will host the tastings and the opening event which will be dedicated to Cuba this year. The opening event includes the Italian preview of the movie by James Suckling and James Orr Heart and Soul of Cuba, followed by a tasting of Cuban cigars accompanied by grappa. On the occasion Barone Ricasoli will offer the Grappa di Castelferro and the wonderful Grappa Riserva di Castello di Brolio, which is refined for 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels.

During the two Grand Tasting scheduled for the 18th and the 19th of May Ricasoli will be represented by Casalferro 2008 and Casalferro 2001, the wine that are the perfect examples of the path inaugurated by Francesco Ricasoli in 1993, when he decided to take over the reins of the family winery.

Torricella 2010, Colledil 2008 and Castello di Brolio 2008 will be found both on the tasting bench and during the dinners scheduled in the programme.

As everybody knows, the founder companies organize private dinners only for some VIP participants to the event. Last year the dinner was held in the wonderful Sala delle Armi of the Brolio Castle, while this year 12 select guests will have the privilege of being received at Francesco Ricasolis place in Florence. The family palace, facing on the Arno and with a unique view of the city, will be the perfect setting for an intimate and exclusive dinner prepared by Franco Sangiacomo, the chef of the Osteria del Castello di Brolio, who will come to Florence city centre to delight the participants in Divino Tuscany.

There could be no better voice for the Tuscan region, food and wine to tell about centuries of history, traditions and savours through his dishes.

Accompanied by the finest Barone Ricasoli wines, the creations by Franco Sangiacomo will enliven a magic night on the banks of the Arno river, together with Francesco Ricasoli and his family.
