Yul Whitney is currently a well-respected Superintendent in Palo Verde Unified School District, but this didnt happen overnight. Yul Whitney is a good example of someone who has worked his way to the top with hard work and dedication. Whitney started out just like the rest of us, but decided to attend schooling in hopes of one day becoming a big part of the school system in Southern California.

Yul began his journey by attending a high ranking school in California. Whitney received his Bachelors degree in Psychology and Sociology, as well as a Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling as well as Educational Administration. Whitney finished off his schooling by receiving his Doctorate in Education. Besides his extensive schooling, Whitney is also the proud holder of Pupil Personnel Credentials and Administrative Services Credentials.

Whitney began his career in Modoc County, working as a Program Specialist and School Psychologist. Working closely with general education teachers and special needs teachers, the group began developing new and innovative methods for teaching students of elementary students, with an extra focus on special needs students.

Whitney then moved on to the Coalinga-Huron District working as the Director of Special Education. His main duties here included educating staff members of all different areas including teachers, psychology, and nurses. Yul Whitney worked closely with the principal and teachers of the school in order to develop new ways of teaching students who require special education. He was then transferred to the Palm Springs Unified School District.

In the Palm Springs Unified School District, Whitney was hired as a Program Specialist where he would coordinate special education services for the 14 elementary schools found within the districts. He was also the administrator for summer school and took a big part in hiring staff members including principals, and teachers.

Yul Whitneys next step was becoming part of the Palo Verde Unified School District. He was hired as the Director of Human Resources but was quickly promoted within three months to Assistant Superintendent in 2003. Whitneys skills strives here and he was quickly noticed by head staff members, which led him to his current role as Superintendent.

This man is a highly educated and experienced man who deserved the position as Superintendent. He is an excellent role model for children in that he worked extremely hard to get to where he is today. His first priority is the children in everything that he does.
